The UCF Knights need one win to achieve bowl eligibility. UCF was 3-0 to begin the season but is having trouble containing opponents in conference play which resulted in an ugly five-game slide. They have replied by winning two straight games, beating Cincinnati 28-26 followed by a dominating 38-10 home win against Oklahoma State last week to improve to 2-5 in conference play. The Knights have covered the spread in only one of their last five decisions.

John Rhys Plumlee only attempted 15 passes last week, posting 180 passing yards. The senior QB missed a few games due to injury. Plumlee has reached 250 yards on three occasions and has recorded 1405 passing yards along with a 10:7 TD to INT ratio. UCF continues to rely on the running game. They have a potent RB in RJ Harvey. The senior RB is in a groove, amassing at least 100 rushing yards in five consecutive games, and has registered 1089 rushing yards on 5.9 yards per rush on the season. UCF has two outstanding receivers. Javon Baker has collected 721 yards while Kobe Hudson brought in 100 yards last week and now has 708 yards. The UCF offense is consistently producing, scoring at least 28 points in four consecutive bouts.

The Knights' defense is poor, ranking near the bottom in many categories. They came through with an encouraging performance last week, allowing just 300 total yards. The group has squandered over 30 points in all but two conference bouts. The pass defense is not the issue, ranking 34th but the rush defense continues to be exploited and is pegged 128th.

UCF is scoring an average of 34 points, marking them 25th. They are allowing an average of 26.8 points, placing them 73rd.
