Troy vs. Arkansas Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-28-2022

Troy Trojans (6-1) vs. Arkansas Razorbacks (5-1)

The 2022-23 NCAA men’s basketball schedule continues on Monday as the Troy Trojans take on the Arkansas Razorbacks at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Troy rebounded nicely after dropping their first game of the season, winning their last two including a 118-61 victory over Southern-New Orleans. Arkansas lost their first game of the year when they fell to No. 10 Creighton on Tuesday, but defeated No. 17 San Diego State in overtime on Wednesday, 78-74. These teams have played twice with Arkansas winning both games, including an 88-63 victory in December 2017.

Troy (6-1, 3-1-0 ATS) held Southern-New Orleans to 39.7% shooting, dominating the game in a 118-61 victory. The Trojans shot 63.0%, including 16-31 from three-point range. This continues a solid performance from beyond the arc, as they are 102nd in the nation in three-point shooting (36.2%) and are 16th in points per game (86.0).

“It was just amazing to watch him fly around and create chaos defensively. He was so close to a quadruple-double,” Troy coach Scott Cross said of Nelson Phillips, who tied an NCAA record with 13 steals. “He was plus-61 in his 27 minutes on the floor which is an outlandish stat.”

Besides the 13 steals, Nelson had 22 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, nearly completing the quadruple-double. He hit eight of 13 shots in the victory. Christyon Eugene added 21 and Duke Miles chipped in 22 points of his own. This is an outstanding shooting team, but they struggled from the free-throw line, going 10-24 against Southern, and are hitting 67.3% for the season.
