In what should be the CAA Game of the Night, Towson (16-7 SU, 8-2 CAA) meets Hofstra (15-8 SU, 8-2 CAA) from Hempstead, New York on Thursday night. The winner claims second place in the CAA and could tie 9-1 Charleston if they lose at Drexel on the same night.
These teams met on Jan. 16 from Towson with the Tigers winning 68-47.
Towson has now won six straight games after beating up William & Mary 92-73 on Saturday at home. Senior forward Cam Holden had the program's second triple-double with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists on 11-of-18 shooting. Charles Thompson added 20 points, four blocks and six rebounds on 9-of-10 shooting. The Tigers shot 52% from the field and 10-of-24 (42%) from long range as their 92 points scored was a season-high. Defensively, Towson struggled some, allowing the Tribe to shoot 49% from the field and 12-of-21 (57%) from three-point range.

Towson (137 NCAA Net Rankings) isn't a threat for an at-large bid, but they should be a threat to winning the CAA Tournament. A lot depends on Holden, who was a first-team all-conference player last season and struggled with turnovers in non-conference play. Some of that was due to a back injury to starting point guard Jason Gibson, who has played in just three games. With Gibson out and sophomore Radhir Hicks struggling with injuries, Holden has had to take most of the ballhandling role. He's limiting the turnovers as of late, but still has 94 assists with 72 turnovers. Guard Nicolas Timberlake leads the Tigers with 15.9 points per game with 3.9 rebounds on 42.3% shooting (36.4% 3pt). Holden adds 14.2 points and 6.5 rebounds with 1.8 steals.
In the CAA, Towson ranks fifth in field goal percentage (44%), second in field goal defense (41.9%), third in three-point shooting (35.7%) and fifth in three-point defense (33.9%). They also rank second in rebounding margin (+4.91).
