Texas State vs Louisiana-Lafayette Prediction – Basketball Picks 3/5/23

The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and Texas State Bobcats face off on Sunday in the Sun Belt Tournament at the Pensacola Bay Center. When these two teams faced off on February 2nd it was Louisana that was able to secure the 82-63 victory. 

Louisiana comes into this game with a 24-7 record overall and they were able to secure a victory on Saturday. Louisiana only gave up 49 points to Georiga Southern and that was enough for the comfortable victory. Jordan Brown had a strong game finishing with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Louisiana is averaging 79.1 points while their defense is giving up 71 points per game. Jordan Brown has been the top player all season averaging 19.8 points while shooting 57.5 percent from the field and 25 percent from behind the three point line. 

Texas State comes into this game with a 16-18 record, but they are coming off quite the upset on Saturday to continue their season. Texas State scored 71 points and that was enough to win by three points. Guard Mason Harrell had a strong game finishing with 17 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Texas State averages 66.2 points while their defense gives up 66.8 points per game. Mason Harrell is averaging 16 points while shooting 41.5 percent from the field and 33.9 percent from behind the three point line. In this game, Texas State is going to need to get the offense going early, and put pressure on the Ragin Cajuns' defense.
