Texas Southern vs. Fairleigh Dickinson Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-15-2023

It’s the second and final day of the First Four of the NCAA Tournament as a member of the Northeast Conference takes on one from the SWAC in the Buckeye State. The Fairleigh Dickinson Knights take on the Texas Southern Tigers Wednesday night with the winner advancing as the 16th-seed in the East Region to take on top-seeded Purdue Friday night. Fairleigh Dickinson was beaten 67-66 in the NEC Tournament championship game by Merrimack on March 7 though they covered as a 4.5-point underdog. They got the conference’s automatic bid due to the transition rule that made Merrimack ineligible for March Madness. Texas Southern earned the SWAC’s bid by downing Grambling State 61-58 in the title game of the SWAC Tournament Saturday, winning outright as a 3.5-point underdog. This marks the first time that the two programs have met at Division I opponents.
