The Temple Owls (3-7. 1-5 AAC) take to the road Saturday paying a visit to Birmingham, Alabama and Protective Stadium to play the UAB Blazers (3-7. 2-4 AAC) in an American Athletic Conference clash. Temple was defeated by South Florida 27-23 last Saturday and the Owls have lost six of the last seven. UAB was defeated by Navy 31-6 last Saturday and the Blazers have lost three of the last four. Temple will play without OL James Faminu and LB D.J. Woodbury, while RB Joquez Smith is questionable. UAB will play without WR Iverson Hooks, RB Isaiah Jacobs and TE J.C. Sivley.

The Temple Owls are averaging 20.8 points and 363.2 yards of total offense per game which are 111th and 84th respectively. Temple's ground game is very poor, averaging 96.5 yards per game which is 123rd while its passing attack is much better, averaging 266.7 yards per game which is 37th. Temple quarterback EJ Warner has thrown for 2,423 yards with 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Warner tossed three touchdowns last weekend versus South Florida but was picked off three times as well. Joquez Smith, who is questionable and missed last Saturday’s game, is the leading rusher for Temple with 311 yards and one touchdown. Temple allows an average of 193.1 yards rushing per game, which is 126th and 242.0 yards passing per game, which is 93rd. Linebacker Jordan Magee has 78 tackles to lead Temple and is also tied with Diwun Black for the lead in quarterbacks with 3.5. Safety Tywan Francis is the leader in interceptions with two, which are the only two Temple has. Temple has 19 quarterback sacks.
