The Southern Miss Golden Eagles will head to Las Vegas and take on the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels in non-conference action from the Thomas & Mack Center on the Mountain West Network.
Southern Miss improved to 11-1 after defeating McNeese State in Hattiesburg. The Golden Eagles cruised to their seventh straight home victory after out-scoring the Cowboys in both halves. USM is scoring 80.4 points per game, while allowing 59.6 ppg, and shooting 48.1% from the floor.
USM has been powered by a pair of transfer portal signees in Felipe Haase (Mercer) and Austin Crowley (Ole Miss). Haase, a 6’9 forward, has found success on the block, and he posted a 28-point double-double against Lamar. Haase leads USM in scoring (17.4) and rebounding (7.1). Crowley is thriving with more playing time after being a three-year reserve in Oxford. The 6’4 guard is averaging career-highs across the board, and second on the team in scoring at 16.1 ppg.
