The SMU Mustangs will head down to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies for a Lone Star battle from Reed Arena this Wednesday on ESPN+.
SMU improved 3-3 after a victory over Lamar in Dallas. The Mustangs jumped back to .500 with the 25-point win over the Cardinals. SMU is scoring 67.3 points per game, while shooting 40.5% from the floor, and 26.8% from deep.
Zhuric Phelps has stepped into the Kendric Davis-gunner role for the Mustangs. The 6’3 guard scored 28 points in the opener and has kept it going, leading SMU in scoring at 18.5 ppg. Fifth-year senior Zach Nutall has reached double figures in five of six games, and he’s scoring 12.7 ppg. Troy transfer Efe Odigie has been effective in the frontcourt, posting double-doubles versus ULL and Evansville, and averaging 9.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg.
