I believe ESPN BET may, perhaps, eventually rise to become America's No. 1 betting app.
This is a minority opinion, to be sure, as FanDuel and DraftKings have a stranglehold on the top spots.'But rewind the clock five years, and virtually no one was predicting these two daily fantasy sports companies – both of which were nearly put out of business a few years earlier by courts, attorney generals, and legislatures after a “scandal” erupted –'would be the dominant forces in sports betting.
So, really, who knows? Insert shrugging shoulder emoji.
I'm not crazy – I know it's going to take a lot for ESPN BET to rise up the ranks and compete with the big dogs. The path there? Well, as everyone else has noted, PENN Entertainment has to leverage the ESPN name in any way possible.
