The Devils have a 25-21-4 record and with only three wins in their last 10 games, they are in fifth place in the Metropolitan Division. The Kraken are having a rough season with their offense letting them down, scoring only 2.76 goals per game with only two goals in their last two games. Oliver Bjorkstrand and Jared McCann have scored 34 goals and 42 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only five skaters have nine goals or more and opponents can eliminate the hopeless offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has stepped up, allowing only 2.86 goals per game. Adam Larsson and Jamie Oleksiak have combined for 6.0 defensive point shares and 214 blocked shots while Vince Dunn, Brian Dumoulin, and William Borgen have combined for 6.9 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Joey Daccord has stepped up with a .921 save percentage and a 2.34 goals-against average on 1012 shots with 17.0 goals saved above average.
