The Seattle Kraken face the Edmonton Oilers with both teams looking to improve on rocky starts to the season. The Kraken have a 5-8-3 record and with two losses in a row, they have fallen to fifth place in the Pacific Division. The Oilers have a 4-9-1 record which is the second-worst in the Pacific Division but they have won back-to-back games. Both teams look to improve within the division and the Western Conference and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Kraken are having a rough season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.50 goals per game with only two goals in the last two games. Jaden Schwartz and Oliver Bjorkstrand have scored 14 goals and 12 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only three skaters have four goals or more this season and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has also been a disappointment, allowing 3.50 goals per game including nine goals in the last two games. William Borgen and Jamie Oleksiak have combined for 1.2 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Philipp Grubauer has struggled with a .891 save percentage and a 3.37 goals-against average on 258 shots with -3.0 goals saved above average.
