San Jose Sharks vs. Montreal Canadiens Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-29-2022

The San Jose Sharks (7-13-1-3, 14-10 PL, 14-9 O/U) take on the Montreal Canadiens (11-9-1-0, 11-10 PL, 9-11 O/U) in an inter-conference bout on Tuesday night. The Sharks were charged with a home loss against the Canucks on Sunday. The Canadiens posted a road win against the Blackhawks in their previous action. Each team earned one win in last year’s two meetings.

The San Jose Sharks head out on a four-game road trek starting on Tuesday. San Jose has lost three games in a row, dropping games against the Kraken, Kings, and was hit with a 4-3 overtime home loss against the Canucks on Sunday night as they continue to struggle defensively. The Sharks have a few skilled players but lack the depth to win games with consistency.

Erik Karlsson has been marvelous. The veteran defenseman has accumulated a remarkable 21 points this month and could be traded from a rebuilding squad later this season. Karlsson now has 32 points in a total of 24 games played on the season. Logan Couture has been their best forward. The 33-year-old center has accumulated six points in his last five clashes including his 12th goal on Sunday and now has 20 points on the season. Timo Meier had a six-game point streak snapped in Sunday’s defeat. The 26-year-old winger has amassed 22 points.

The Sharks will likely have Kaapo Kahkonen guard the cage. James Reimer is dealing with an injury that resulted in the squad bringing in Aaron Dell from the AHL. Kahknonen has struggled to keep the puck out of the net, logging an abysmal 3.81 GAA and an .871 save % to go with a 2-5-2 record. San Jose is scoring an average of three goals, ranking them 20th. They are squandering an average of 3.6 goals, placing them 28th in the NHL.
