Rice was drubbed 70-52 at home in their previous contest by UAB, failing to cover as a 1.5-point underdog, Saturday and look to bounce back here. Louisiana Tech comes in off a 66-55 road win over UTSA in their previous game Saturday, covering the line as an 7.5-point favorite. In the all-time series between the programs, the Bulldogs own a 21-7 advantage and have won the last six meetings. Against UAB, Rice was scoreless for the first seven minutes of the game, falling into a 7-0 hole, and never managed to recover. The Owls trailed 33-15 at the half and never cut the gap below 15 the rest of the way en route to the decisive defeat. Rice shot 33.3% from the field, including eight of 26 from three-point range, and lost the battle of the boards by a 44-31 margin. Quincy Olivari led the Owls with 18 points in the loss.

The Owls are putting up 79.3 points per game on the year so far, which is 30th in the nation. Rice is collecting 36.6 boards a night and is dishing out 16.7 assists per contest.
