Report: NBA Investigating Jontay Porter For Sports Betting Issue

The NBA is investigating Jontay Porter for sports betting irregularities related to his player props on Jan. 26 and March 20, according to an ESPN report.

Porter, who is on a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors, left games on Jan. 26 and March 20 due to injury and illness, respectively. As a result of Porter’s early exits, the under cashed with ease for several of his props.

On Jan. 26, Porter left a game against the Clippers after four minutes for what the Raptors called a re-aggravation of an eye injury. On March 20, Porter only played three minutes before leaving with an illness against the Phoenix Suns.

In both instances, DraftKings reported his player props as highly profitable for bettors. Given Porter's relatively small role on the Raptors – he's only played in 26 games and averages just 14 minutes per contest – it would come as a surprise for his player props to receive significant action.
