The 2022 MLB trade deadline is only one day away and will see teams do what they can to improve their shot at winning a World Series. Nevertheless, there are still games to be played before then on Monday, Aug. 1, including a clash between the Boston Red Sox (51-52) and Houston Astros (67-36).
The Red Sox hope that a new month means a reversal of the club's fortune. Boston went an abysmal 8-19 over the course of July, sending them to the bottom of the AL East. The Red Sox lost 13 of their last 17 games, proving that they have a tough task ahead of them tonight.
Meanwhile, it 's been business as usual for the Astros lately. They're winners of eight of their last 12 games, which includes a 3-1 series victory over the Seattle Mariners this past week. A victory tonight would solidify their hold on the AL West lead.
