If you say you saw this October's MLB results coming, you are either potentially very rich – if you bet them in the spring – or almost definitely a liar.
BetMGM's preseason odds on the Texas Rangers to win the 2023 World Series were 50/1. It deemed the Arizona Diamondbacks even less likely at 66/1. A prescient sports bettor looking to place a longshot futures wager presumably could have found something even longer on both by line shopping.
But here we are near Halloween with the Rangers favored over the Diamondbacks in the best-of-seven World Series that starts Friday at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas after a long series of unlikely but not necessarily unfortunate events (unless you are a fan of or futures bettor on the Astros or Phillies).
