PrizePicks Selects XPoint As Geolocation Service Provider

The geolocation service XPoint scored its first coast-to-coast customer in the sports betting and fantasy sector on Monday, announcing a partnership'with PrizePicks, a fantasy sports app that’s live in 32 U.S. jurisdictions and Canada. To date, Vancouver, B.C.-based GeoComply has been the choice for nearly all major wagering and fantasy operators for geolocation services.

XPoint focuses specifically on the gaming industry, and according to a press release, its technology will be used for geolocation and to combat fraud. Sporttrade, the wagering and exchange wagering platform that is live in New Jersey and Colorado, also uses XPoint, which is partnered with BettorFantasy, FlexFan, PlayStar, and Skill on the Net.

“We are committed to the integrity of our product offering, which is why we are thrilled to partner with Xpoint to leverage their industry-leading technology,” PrizePicks CEO and co-founder Adam Wexler said in a press release. “The introduction of Xpoint is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that we continue to meet and exceed the increasing demands within the DFS industry, while also pushing boundaries and innovating in the space.”

GeoComply, which was founded in 2011, has long had a near-monopoly on geofencing and fraud services among wagering and fantasy operators, but it is not the only service available. Besides XPoint, which was founded in 2019, Radar, a geolocation service that has traditionally worked in the retail and food sectors, announced its expansion into gaming late last year. As of last fall, Radar was licensed in three states and had partnered with the fantasy platform Sleeper, as well as Ballers Sportsbook.
