Pitt comes in off an 80-64 win at home over William & Mary Friday night, covering the line as a 13.5-point favorite, in their previous contest. Northwestern was beaten 43-42 by #13 Auburn in the championship game of the Cancun Challenge Wednesday in their previous contest. They did cover the line as a seven-point underdog in the contest. The Panthers improved to 4-3 on the season and look to continue their momentum as they take the floor here. Against William & Mary, Pitt trailed by as many as seven and remained down four at the half before getting in gear. The Panthers trailed 45-43 with 16:37 to play before reeling off an 11-1 run to go in front 54-46 with 13:51 to go. Pitt didn’t let William & Mary closer than six the rest of the way as they pulled away down the stretch to earn the win. The Panthers shot 43.5% from the field, including 11 of 28 from three-point range, and held a 46-35 advantage on the boards in the victory. Blake Hinson led the Panthers with 17 points and 11 rebounds in the victory.
