On Sunday they scored two goals in the 9th inning, but it wasn’t enough as they lost by one run. Overall this season the Pirates offense is averaging 3.62 runs per game which is 28th in the league.
On the other side of this matchup is the Cubs who sit with a 38-57 record overall and they have won four games in a row. This has been a disappointing season, but they looked really good against the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend. The Cubs pitching is giving up 5.04 runs per game which is 25th in the league. Patrick Wisdom is having a strong season hitting 17 home runs and driving in 47 RBIs.
