Pittsburgh at Syracuse – 12/20/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Pitt Panthers and Syracuse Orange face off on Tuesday in a college basketball showdown at the Carrier Dome. When these two teams faced off in January it was Pitt that secured the 64-53 victory. 

Pitt comes into this game with an 8-4 record and they have gone 8-3-1 against the spread so far this season. In the last game against North Florida the defense gave up only 56 points and that led to an easy victory. Pitt is averaging 75.1 points while their defense is giving up 66.3 points per game. They are also averaging 25.3 three pointers attempted per game which is 66th in college basketball. Forward Blake Hinson is averaging 16.5 points while shooting 50.4 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from behind the three point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is Syracuse who sits with an 8-4 record and they have gone 6-6 against the spread. In the last game against Cornell the defense gave up 63 points and that led to the 15 point victory. Joseph Girad III scored 19 points, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out four assists. Syracuse is averaging 74.8 points while their defense is giving up 68.2 points per game. Girad is averaging 15.2 points while shooting 39.6 percent from the field and 35.1 percent from behind the three point line. In this game the Orange need the offense to be strong here.
