Pistons at Cavaliers Prediction – NBA Picks 2/8/23

The Detroit Pistons and the Cleveland Cavaliers duke it out at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.

The Detroit Pistons have been in rough shape as they’ve lost eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Celtics in a 111-99 loss on Monday. Bojan Bogdanovic led the team with 21 points on six of 11 shooting, Killian Hayes added 17 points and nine assists off the bench while Jaden Ivey and Saddiq Bey scored 14 points apiece. As a team, the Pistons shot just 42 percent from the field and nine of 33 from the 3-point line as they allowed the Celtics to pour in 34 points in the second quarter to fall behind going into halftime and things only got worse in the third quarter where they managed just 19 points to fall behind by as many as 23 points.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after blowing past the Wizards in a 114-91 road win on Monday. Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland led the team with 23 points each, Donovan Mitchell added 21 points with six rebounds and five assists while Evan Mobley chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Cavaliers shot a healthy 56 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter to take the early double-digit lead which ballooned to 28 points in the third quarter before they decided to rest their starters early.
