Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-5-2023

Philadelphia will try to extend its two-game winning streak when it travels to New York on Sunday night. The 76ers have won nine of their last 10 games and are coming off a 137-125 win at San Antonio. New York has been in a cold spell, losing seven of its last 10 contests.

Philadelphia got off to a frustrating start this season, going just 12-12 through its first 24 games. The 76ers responded with an eight-game winning streak and have been one of the top teams in the NBA since then. They added a seven-game winning streak at the end of January, beating the Lakers, Clippers, Kings and Nuggets during that stretch. Their hot stretch came to an end last Monday in a 119-109 setback against Orlando, but they were able to get revenge with a 105-94 in Wednesday’s rematch. Philadelphia’s most recent performance was a 137-125 win at San Antonio on Friday to open a three-game road trip.

Star Joel Embiid poured in 33 points and completed his double-double with 10 rebounds in the win over the Spurs. Tyrese Maxey added 25 points, while James Harden scored 16 points. Embiid, who was questionable with a foot injury heading into the game, has led Philadelphia in scoring in four straight games and in seven of the team’s last nine games. He is back on the injury report with a game-time decision designation for this contest, though. The 76ers are in third place in the Eastern Conference standing, sitting one game back of Milwaukee and two games back of Boston. They come into this game ranked No. 11 in scoring (114.9) and are facing a New York defense that is No. 10 (112.5).
