The Philadelphia 76ers' active roster certainly looks different than the one that raced out to a top-three spot in the Eastern Conference. The Sixers have fallen to the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture after dropping eight of their last ten following the loss of center and MVP leading scorer Joel Embiid. While the team awaits a definitive answer on Embiid's return, they made several moves at the trade deadline and beyond. The Sixers added sharp-shooter Buddy Hield, and guard Cameron Payne, and then signed veteran point guard Kyle Lowry after he agreed to a buyout with the Charlotte Hornets. The Sixers have parted ways with Marcus Morris, Furkan Korkmaz, Danuel House, Jaden Purdy, and Robin Lopez. The revamped Sixers picked up a 119-113 win over the Wizards at home on Saturday night. Tyrese Maxey led the way with 28 points while newcomer Buddy Hield poured in 23 points to end the team's four-game losing streak . Rookie Ricky Council IV had a career night with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

“He was big time,” Maxey said of Council's 11th NBA appearance and first of more than 12 minutes. “He balled. Defensively, offensively, energy-wise. He got some big buckets down the stretch. I'm proud of him.”

The Sixers are still unsure of the availability of Embiid this season but are hopeful he will make a return by the playoffs at the latest. The Sixers come into this matchup ranked 9th in the NBA in scoring offense. They are eighth in field goal shooting and 21st in 3-point shooting. The Sixers are 27th in 3-point field goals made per game as well. On the defensive end, the Sixers are 14th in scoring defense this season. They are 15th in field goal defense and ninth in 3-point defense. On the glass, the Sixers are just 19th in the NBA in total rebounds per game. They are first in fewest turnovers per game.

Key Injuries: De'Anthony Melton and Nicolas Batum are both questionable.
