Pepperdine at Hawaii – 12/22/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Pepperdine Waves will head across the water to Honolulu and face the Hawaii Warriors in Round 1 of the Diamond Head Classic from the Stan Sheriff Center on ESPN2. Hawaii and Pepperdine have faced off four times, with each school winning a pair of meetings.

Pepperdine fell to 5-3 after losing to Nevada at home. The Waves took a lead into the locker room, but a rally from the Wolf Pack in the second half would propel them to victory. Pepperdine is scoring 80.5 points per game, while allowing ppg, and shooting 48.6% from the field. 

Pepperdine has looked competitive early on here this Fall. Maxwell Lewis has been one of the best scorers in the conference, and after a 30-point showing in the win over Northern Arizona. Lewis leads the team in scoring (18.5), while grabbing 5.8 rpg. Fellow sophomores Houston Mallette (14.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.5 apg) and Mike Mitchell Jr. (11.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 4.9 apg) have also taken noticeable second-year leaps. Freshman Jevon Porter joins Lewis in the frontcourt, and he leads the Waves in rebounding (7.4), while scoring 10.4 ppg.
