The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are firmly on the bubble and are in need of at least one win in the ACC Tournament to have any chance of making the NCAA Tournament. Though they're the higher seed in this 5 vs. 12 matchup, they lost to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Feb. 27 (70-65).
To advance to this round, the Fighting Irish defeated the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 84-80. Can they defeat the Demon Deacons again and extend their season?

In the first meeting between these two teams, the big differences in the game were turnovers and free throws. The Fighting Irish finished the game 19-for-22 from the charity stripe while the Demon Deacons were just 8-for-10. Additionally, Wake Forest turned the ball over 12 times, which was twice as many times as Notre Dame.
What was most incredible about the box score of that game is that the Fighting Irish rank 346th in free throws attempted per game. The Demon Deacons aren't much better, as they rank 233rd, but the point is, it's doubtful Notre Dame will attempt 12 more free throws than Wake Forest on Wednesday.
If Notre Dame struggles to get to the line, this will be a long game for the Irish. Wake Forest shoots 47.8% from the field, 30th in the nation, while the Fighting Irish shoot just 40.6%, which ranks 331st.
We don't love the Demon Deacons giving 8.5 points, but this game is for their season. They're the much more talented unit, and they just knocked off a very good Clemson team. Without much confidence in the total, we're backing the Demon Deacons to cover, as all the anomalies in the first meeting are corrected.
