With mobile sports betting expected to launch in North Carolina in the first half of 2024, the North Carolina Lottery Commission continues its hiring push. At the end of this week, applications will close for the director of licensing position.'
The director of licensing will hold critical responsibilities as the state moves toward expanded legalized sports betting. Among those is creating the policies, procedures, and practices the lottery commission will use to investigate and rate sportsbook license applicants.'
Applicants to become director of licensing are required to have five years of “extensive supervisory experience in progressively responsible licensing operations,” and candidates with sports betting licensing backgrounds are preferred.'
The annual salary for the position is between $109,000 and $125,000.'
