This could be a full-on battle between the backups, and the short spread listing Minnesota as 1-point road favorites indicates just that. Denver isn’t expected to play their starters in Saturday’s preseason finale, while Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell hasn’t explicitly said one way or another. However, if you read into some of O’Connell’s quotes, I’d expect the majority of the Vikings starters to sit Saturday, if not all of them. This means we could have a battle between Josh Johnson and Kellen Mond on our hands. And with Week 0 of the college football season underway, this is a game I frankly want no part of, as I don’t see an edge on either side. If I have to choose, I’d lean under.
