By Lucy Burdge – Jun 14, 2023, 7:26pm It has now been confirmed that DeAndre Hopkins will visit the Patriots for two days this week after reports and speculation that such a visit for the free agent will take place.'Hopkins is fresh off his trip to Tennessee to visit with the Titans, and while Ian Rapoport did describe the Titans visit as “very positive,” the Patriots now have the chance to persuade Hopkins to sign with New England. The Bills are also among the teams linked to Hopkins, presumably because he mentioned Josh Allen by name as a quarterback he would want to play with. But I think Bill Belichick is also a coach he would want to play for and I like the Patriots' odds here to ultimately land Hopkins. The visit from Hopkins alone is great for optics in showing New England is a desired destination for free agents. And while Belichick wouldn't dir ectly answer questions about the visit, making it clear he is “not a travel agent,” Patriots QB Mac Jones seemed jazzed at the prospect of playing with Hopkins. “I think that's definitely a hypothetical, but I think DeAndre is a great player,” Jones said on Monday. “You watch his film from college all the way through the NFL, he's done a great job. So obviously,'we'd love to have him.” Hopkins would add talent to the Patriots team whose Super Bowl odds at BetMGM are +5000, AFC championship odds are +3000 and AFC East odds are dead last at +750. Signing Hopkins would be huge for the Patriots I think because it would add an air of seriousness to this team and would help cement it as a team free agents want to join. And it might put them more in the mix to win the AFC East. So here's hoping Hopkins' visit t o New England goes well and he gets to at least enjoy a dinner at the Davio's at Patriot Place.
