New Mexico at Colorado State – 3/3/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Colorado State Rams will host the New Mexico Lobos in Mountain West play from the Moby Arena on FS1. UNM leads the all-time series, 79-50, after opening conference play with a win over CSU back in December.

New Mexico improved to 21-9 after beating Fresno State in Albuquerque. The Lobos maintained the lead throughout the contest and they downed the Bulldogs by fourteen, 94-80. UNM scores 82.1 points per game, while allowing 71.5 ppg, and shooting 49.1% from the field.

New Mexico was hit hard by the injury bug and the growing competitive nature of the conference last month, but they aren’t out of the postseason picture just yet. UNM got a much needed win on Tuesday, and a win here would leave them with one of the most compelling resumes on the bubble. The Lobos are 8-9 in MWC play, with a 5-5 record. The backcourt pairing of Jamal Mashburn Jr. and Jaelen House give New Mexico a potent combo in the backcourt. Mashburn scored 20 points against SDSU last week, and he leads the Lobos in scoring (19.4). House has returned to form since missing a patch of last month, and after scoring 24 points in the win over Fresno, he’s up to 17.1 ppg and team-leading 4.7 apg. Senior forward Morris Udeze scored a game-high 25 points against the Bulldogs, and he’s scoring 16.1 ppg, while grabbing a team-lead 9.3 rpg.
