NBA Player Prop Predictions 1: Clint Capela
Atlanta Hawks center Clint Capela has averaged a double-double with 10.7 points and 10.4 rebounds per game on 56.4% shooting from the field.
Capela’s points and rebounding totals are both set at 9.5 and I like both, so let’s combine them for an over 19.5 Points + Rebounds.
Capela has recorded 20+ P+R in 5 of 7 games while falling just short with 18 in one of the other two games. The only game he didn’t come close was against a stellar Minnesota Timberwolves defense that dominates the paint.
The Orlando Magic rank middle of the pack in both categories against opposing big men but Wendell Carter Jr has already been ruled out as he recovers from surgery on a fractured hand.
That leaves only Goga Bitadze and Moritz Wagner to patrol the paint and Capela has cleared this total in his last two games against Orlando with 32 and 22 P+R. Foul trouble can be a concern with Capela, but he hasn’t eclipsed the three fouls yet this season.
On a night with only two games on the NBA docket, Capela over 19.5 Points + Rebounds definitely has my attention.

NBA Player Prop Predictions 2: Paolo Banchero 4.5 Assists (-130 DraftKings)
Orlando Magic power forward Paolo Banchero has averaged 18.1 points, 6 rebounds and 5.6 assists on 47.3% shooting from the field through the first seven games of the 2023-24 NBA regular season.
Banchero’s assists numbers have been remarkably consistent as he has recorded 5+ dimes in 5 of 7 games while landing on 4 exactly in the other two games.
He has eclipsed this total in each of his last three games including setting a season high with 10 against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.
The Atlanta Hawks have allowed the MOST assists per game to opposing power forwards with 5.53 per game and 7th most overall with 27.6 per game.
Banchero cleared this number in his last three games against Atlanta last season with 7, 6 and 5 assists. We also have a high total of 231.5 and a spread of only -3.5 so a close and high scoring game is projected.
Wendell Carter Jr and Gary Harris have already been ruled out while Markelle Fultz remains questionable so the Magic will surely need big minutes from Banchero tonight and this prop has been a consistent cash all season.
