With just 7 games remaining for the Phoenix Suns, it feels time for the team to make a push for an automatic playoff berth. They currently sit in the play in positions but just a game behind the 5th and 6th seeds. A win streak now would be timely. That might not come easy tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who occupy the 3rd spot in the east. The visitors do have the Orlando Magic and New Yo rk Knicks hot on their heels and will be motivated to keep pushing at the end of the season too. Should make for a fascinating encounter tonight.
You can check out all of our NBA picks for today's games, but for now let's jump into my Cavaliers vs Suns Same Game Parlay.
Devin Booker 35+ points (+375)
Devin Booker went ballistic in his last outing against the New Orleans Pelicans, dropping a 52-point performance. He shot 50% from beyond the arc in that game, and if he can keep that going tonight against the Cavaliers, he should have a great chance of hitting the 35-point mark. He dropped 28 against this very Cavaliers team last month, making just 1 of 7 shots from deep. A return to anywhere close to his season average of 36.8% from there should set this over to hit well. With Bradley Beal taking a backseat offensively, managing more than 13 shots just once over his last 9 outings, Booker should be free to take over. With the fact that the Cavaliers have a relatively undersized backcourt in Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell, with longer defenders like Evan Mobley being tasked with guarding Kevin Durant, Booker should not have any issues getting his shot off. I expect the Suns to lean heavily on him tonight, and he has the tools to deliver a strong scoring performance.
Under 222.5 (+130)
Over the last 10 games the Cavaliers have played at the slowest pace in the NBA. With the team on the second night of a back-to-back set, it is hard to envision them picking that up tonight. During that same stretch of games, they have been in the bottom 10 in the league in offensive rating. In his 2 games since his return from injury, Mitchell has yet to surpass the 15-point mark in a game, despite playing at least 30 minutes in each. If he continues to struggle to shake off the rust tonight, it is hard to see how the Cavaliers can do their part for the over to hit tonight. Over the last 10 these sides also rank 26th and 30th in fast break points per game respectively. They both have great size in the paint too that should make it difficult for them to finish effectively in the paint. In what looks set to turn into a half-court battle, it does not bode well for this to be a high scoring encounter. I think the Cavaliers will just about get to the 100-point mark, leaving the Suns w ith too much to do to surpass the 223-point mark, especially with the limited number of possessions due to the pace.
