My colleague Matt Youmans once told me, “Don’t ask a bad team to do good things for you.” It is an adage I should probably live by more, as Washington burned me earlier this week when it lost and failed to cover against Indiana in its first game without Tyrese Haliburton. However, I would argue that in this game, asking the Hawks to win by margin is the epitome of asking a bad team to do a good thing.
