The World Series odds-favorite Dodgers welcome the Washington Nationals to Los Angeles on Monday, with all the players donning the iconic No. 42 in honor of Jackie Robinson Day.
First pitch is expected at 10:10 p.m. ET (Fubo), with Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow opposite left-hander Mitchell Parker, who's making his major-league debut.
The 11-7 Dodgers are off to a relatively slow start despite MLB MVP odds favorite Mookie Betts ranking first in the majors in fWAR.
Meanwhile, the Nationals are 6-9, which is surprisingly good for a team that was given a preseason MLB projected wins total of only 66.5. Washington's solid start is thanks to the continued growth of CJ Abrams and the resu rgence of Jesse Winker.

Nationals vs. Dodgers prediction
Glasnow struck out an absu rd 14 batters in his last start against the Twins, allowing only three hits and no runs over seven innings. However, that very performance is providing us with this Under on Monday.
For that start against the Twins, I bet Glasnow Under 7.5 strikeouts at +115. Now for this game against Washington, we're getting Under 8.5 at nearly identical odds via FanDuel's +108.
As far as the two teams go, Minnesota owns the third-highest strikeout rate in the league at 27.6%, while the Nationals are closer to the middle of the pack at 22.2%. That's likely why, despite his massive performance against the Twins, Glasnow's projection this week is a very similar 6.83.

Dodgers offseason addition Teoscar Hernandez has been on fire at the plate to start his season. Following a relatively disappointing campaign with the Seattle Mariners when he hit only 26 home runs in 160 games, the outfielder is already at five long balls in his first 18 contests.
Hernandez has cleared 1.5 total bases in eight of those 18 games so far this season, and he's been much better against southpaws with a .333 average versus a .255 average against right-handers. Additionally, all five of his dingers have come at home during 2024.

The reason I like this market is because Betts doesn't need to record two-plus bases for the bet to cash. He just needs to outperform Abrams, who's projected to endure a rough night at the plate against Glasnow and any other Dodgers pitchers who follow him.
Betts has somewhat slowed down since his scorching-hot start, but he still owns an absurd 210 wRC+ while hitting safely in six straight games. The shortstop rarely strikes out, and he should continue to see strikes thrown to him with Shohei Oht ani tearing the cover off the ball right now.
Abrams has been great so far in his own right. But there are still glaring holes in his swing and approach, and Glasnow and the Dodgers should exploit those weaknesses.
