The Minnesota Wild defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, 3-2. The victory moved Minnesota to 6-4-0 in their last 10. They are 10-12-2 on the road this season. This is the first of a two-game road trip for Minnesota, and they will play six of their next nine on the road.

In what could be the final contest against his former team, Marc-Andre Fleury was spectacular for Minnesota, stopping 34 shots. It will likely be Filip Gustavsson (14-13-2, 3.19, .897) who will be between the pipes for this game. Gustavsson has allowed three goals or fewer in six straight contests, with four of those games seeing him allow three goals. Minnesota is 23rd in goals-against average (3.27) and the penalty-killing unit s have been terrible, 29th overall (74.1%).

Twice the Wild held a one-goal advantage in this game, only to see Pittsburgh come back to tie the score in each instance. However, Kirill Kaprizov scored the game-winner with a little over 10 minutes left in the contest. Kaprizov now has five points over his last five games and he leads the club with 47 points. The Wild are 19th in goals per game (2.96).
