Minnesota Wild at San Jose Sharks – 12/22/22 NHL Picks and Prediction

The Minnesota Wild and San Jose Sharks face off on Thursday in an NHL showdown at the Honda Center. These are two teams that are on the opposite side of the standings. 

The Wild come into this game with an 18-11-2 record and they have gone 7-5-1 away from home. On Sunday against the Ottawa Senators the defense was agian good, and they secured the 4-2 victory. Last Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks, they were able to secure the 4-1 victory. The Wild are averaging 3.13 goals while their defense is giving up 2.84 goals per game. The defense has been improved as of late. Kirill Kaprizov has scored 19 goals and added 23 assists. The Wild do have a game on Wednesday night, and there have to be some concerns about tired legs. They can't fall behind early in this game, or this could be a loss. 

On the other side of this matchup is San Jose who sits with a 10-18-6 record and they have gone 3-10-5 at home. In the last game against the Calgary Flames, the Sharks defense gave up seven goals and that led to the four goal defeat. Timo Meier scored one goal and added one assist. San Jose is averaging 3.0 goals while their defense is giving up 3.62 goals per game. Erik Karlsson has been the top player for the Sharks scoring 12 goals and adding 30 assists
