The Michigan Wolverines (17-14, 17-13-1 ATS, 18-13 O/U) collide with the Vanderbilt Commodores (18-13, 17-14 ATS,17-13 O/U) in the second round of the NIT Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Wolverines defeated Toledo in the opening round of the NIT. The Commodores beat Yale in their first NIT bout.
The #3 seed Michigan Wolverines have put the disappointment of the Big Ten Tournament behind them. Michigan lost an ugly 62-59 decision to Rutgers in the opening round of the Big Ten Tourney but rebounded by recording a solid 90-80 home win against Toledo of the MAC in the 1st round of the NIT on Tuesday night. They were 5.5-point favorites in the victory. Michigan was competitive in the Big Ten, posting an 11-9 record. They have covered the spread in five of their last six clashes.
Hunter Dickinson continues to dazzle, sinking at least 23 points in four of his last five games, including 24 in the loss to Rutgers. The junior center has recorded an average of 18.4 PPG along with 9 RPG on the season. Jett Howard has shot below 42% in nine of his last ten games. The freshman guard is averaging 14.2 PPG. He did not play in Tuesday’s win and is questionable for this one. Kobe Bufkin scored 23 poi nts in the win against Toledo. The sophomore guard has increased his season average to 14 PPG.

The Wolverines are placed 42nd in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and have not been very good on the road where they are 3-7. Michigan has scored at least 73 points in four of their last five games and is posting an average of 73.8 points on the season, marking them 128th. They are conceding an average of 69.6 points, placing them 170th.
