The Miami Heat are on the road as they travel to face the Milwaukee Bucks Tuesday night. Milwaukee was in action against Denver at home Monday night in the front half of a back-to-back set. They drubbed the Hornets 120-84 at home Friday night, covering the line as a 16-point favorite. In the all-time regular season series, the Heat owns a 75-53 advantage but the Bucks have won four straight matchups, including a 131-124 road win in the most recent matchup on November 28, 2023. Miami battled but ended up falling short at home against Boston in their previous contest Sunday afternoon. The Heat entered that game 28-25 on the season and stood second in the Southeast Division, one game behind the Magic for the top spot. They were eighth in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, 12 games behind the Celtics for the top spot, 1.5 games behind the Pacers for the final guaranteed playoff spot and 5.5 games ahead of the Nets to remain in the play-in tournament field. Against Boston, Miami gave up a 7-0 run that spanned the end of the first quarter and the start of the second, breaking a 22-22 tie, and never got even again. The Heat trailed by as many as 12 in the first half, by nine at intermission and by as many as 15 with 10:02 to play in the third quarter. Miami got within two with 1:49 to play but couldn’t get even as they took the loss. The Heat shot 41.2% from the field, including 12 of 40 from three-point ran ge, and allowed the Celtics to shoot 50.6% in the game. Tyler Herro led Miami with 24 points in the loss.
