The Charlotte Hornets play host to the Miami Heat on Tuesday night in an Eastern Conference showdown from the Spectrum Center. The Heat come into this one winners of five in a row, including the last three on the road, as they look to extend that success. For Charlotte, they are coming off a loss on Sunday, marking struggles in three of the last four. This will be the first meeting of the season between the two, coming in the NBA In-Season Tournament, adding some extra intrigue to this one, as fans won't want to miss out on this budding rivalry.

The Heat started the season slow but on the backs of a five-game winning streak, having catapulted themselves back near the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The last three wins have all come on the road, which is impressive in itself, as they aim to make it a fourth-straight win in this one. Last season, the home team dominated this series, winning all four matchups, which casts some doubt over Miami in this one. They certainly have the talent and depth to find success in this matchup and considering it also marks an NBA In-Season matchup, should see them put their best foot forward.

From an injury perspective, the Heat cotninue to be without two key pieces on their perimeter. Tyler Herro (ankle) was off to a fast start, though remains out through early December. Adding to that is Caleb Martin (knee), who remains out for the foreseeable future. Representing two key pieces on both ends , it'll be interesting to see how the staff continues to cobble together a lineup going forward.

The wins have come but the stats haven't been overly impressive for Miami so far this season. They've leaned heavily on the three-point shot in the early going, where they rank fifth in the NBA and should come in handy against a struggling three-point defense. The defense has been the calling card of this team over the last few years but even that side ranks in the bottom third of the league in a number of categories. Bam Adebayo (23.2 ppg) continues to lead the way but there could be a clear void without Herro's 22.9 ppg. In the end, all eyes will be on Jimmy Butler (18.5 ppg) as the NBA veteran should run through Tuesday night unchecked by any defensive characters on Charlotte.
