Matt Fitzpatrick U.S. Open Prediction 2023
Matt Fitzpatrick got a taste of glory when he captured his first PGA Tour victory at the U.S. Open last year. He then started the 2022-23 campaign without much momentum as he missed the cut in four of his first nine showings. The 28-year-old finally regained his form by winning the RBC Heritage in April.
More 2023 U.S. Open betting content from The Duel:
The 2023 U.S. Open is set to be played at Los Angeles Country Club, which is a course that forces golfers to perfect their approach game as small greens are surrounded by rough terrain. Fitzpatrick has struggled with in that aspect as he ranks 107th in Strokes Gained: Approach the Green (.008).
That certainly doesn't inspire much confidence for bettors looking to back the reigning champion. I would suggest playing it safe here and opting for a top-30 finish (-135), which is a feat Fitzpatrick has accomplished in five of his last seven PGA Tour appearances. It's best not to go beyond that, though.
