The UMass Minutemen have had a disappointing season in the A-10 this year with just six league wins in 18 games. They do, however, have a chance to advance to the next round in a matchup against a Richmond team that the Minutemen have already beaten this season. In the first matchup this season, UMass took down Richmond at home, 86-76. The Minutemen shot 43% from the field overall and nearly 48% from 3pt range to turn a late 3-point deficit into a nine-point win thanks to a 14-3 closing run. UMass went just 3-7 the rest of the way after this victory. RJ Luis led UMass with 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists in the win.

As mentioned, UMass closed the season on a sour note with just three wins in its final ten games. The Minutemen went just 2-3 over the final five games as well. On the season, UMass finished seventh in the A-10 in scoring offense. The Minutemen were just 12th in field goal percentage and ninth in 3pt shooting in the A-10. Defensively, UMass finished conference play 11th in scoring defense. The Minutemen finished eighth in opponent's shooting percentage and eighth in 3pt defense. UMass was sloppy with the basketball, finishing just 13th in turnovers in the A-10. The Minutemen did, however, finish second in total rebounding.

Key Injuries: G Noah Fernandes (ankle) remains out as he struggles with an ankle injury that has limited him to 11 games this season.
