The Marquette Golden Eagles made it eight straight wins on Tuesday night with a 78-72 win at Butler. The Golden Eagles are now 10-3 in conference play as they get set for the first of two encounters with the top-ranked UConn Huskies on the road this Saturday. Guard Tyler Kolek finished the game with 27 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists to lead the 4th-ranked Golden Eagles to the road win. Oso Ighodaro delivered his fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the contest. The Golden Eagles shot 49% from the floor and held a 46-20 advantage in points in the paint over host Butler.

Marquette comes into this game ranked fourth in the country and with a chance at earning a top seed in the NCAA Tournament should they at least earn a split with UConn and win the Big East Tournament. The Golden Eagles come into this game with the 3rd ranked scoring offense in the Big East. They are third in field goal percentage and third in 3-point shooting. The Golden Eagles are fourth in the conference in 3-point field goals made per game. On the defensive end, the Golden Eagles are sixth in scoring defense in the conference. They are seventh in field goal defense and just eighth in 3-point defense.
