Magic at Hornets Prediction – NBA Picks 2/5/23

The Orlando Magic invade the Spectrum Center to take on the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday afternoon.

The Orlando Magic have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last nine games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Timberwolves in a 127-120 road win on Friday. Cole Anthony led the team with 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists off the bench, Moritz Wagner added 19 points while Markelle Fultz chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Magic shot 52 percent from the field and 12 of 23 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 37 points in the second quarter to overcome an early 10-point deficit, before they held the Timberwolves to just 18 points in the third quarter to lead by as many as 22 points.

Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have been in a real funk as they’ve lost 10 of their last 14 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after losing to the Pistons in a 118-112 road loss on Friday. LaMelo Ball tallied 23 points with eight rebounds, eight assists and five steals, Terry Rozier added 23 points while Jaden McDaniels chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Hornets shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 34 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Pistons in a tight contest, until the fourth quarter where they managed just 18 points to allow the Pistons to slip away late.
