The 2022-23 NBA season goes on Sunday, January 22, with the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference showdown at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, and the tip-off is set for 9:00 PM ET.
Los Angeles and Portland continue their four-game regular-season series after splitting a couple of games at Crypto.com Arena in LA. The Trail Blazers open as 4-point home favorites, and the totals sit at 237.5 points.
The Los Angeles Lakers (21-25; 21-23-2 ATS) are coming off Friday’s 122-121 home victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. They upset the odds as 7-point underdogs and stopped the Grizzlies’ 11-game winning streak. The Lakers rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit, dropping a staggering 41 fourth-quarter points on Memphis.
Russell Westbrook led the way for the Lakers last Friday, notching 29 points and six assists in 31 minutes on the floor. LeBron James posted a line of 23 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and a couple of steals and blocks, while Dennis Schroder had 19 points, eight assists, and three steals. The Lakers went 33-for-41 from the foul line and committed just ten turnovers while tallying 20 fast-break points.
“To get a win like this is a momen tum swing,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “The guys were kind of down after the Sacramento game, but we addressed areas that we needed to get better. There’s no way we win this game if we didn’t have the type of fight that we had.”

The Lakers have won two of their last three contests, remaining the No. 13 seed in the Western Conference. They are still without Anthony Davis (foot), who’s been sidelined since mid-December. Austin Reaves (hamstring) is on the shelf, too, while Lonnie Walker IV (knee) is questionable to play Sunday against Portland.
