The Long Beach State Beach are on the road as they travel to face the CSU Fullerton Titans Thursday night. Long Beach State comes in off a 75-72 home win over UC Davis in their previous game Saturday night, though they failed to cover as a 3.5-point favorite. CSU Fullerton drubbed Cal Poly 65-36 on the road in their previous game Saturday night, easily covering the line as a four-point favorite. In the all-time series between the teams, the Beach own a 60-47 advantage, including a 72-67 home win in the first meeting this season on January 19.

Long Beach State won their fourth straight game as they managed to hold off UC Davis at home in their previous game. The Beach improved to 12-10 overall and stand tied for fifth in the Big West with a 6-4 conference record. Against UC Davis, Long Beach State was in a game that was tight the whole way as they never led by more than six while the Aggies never led by more than four. The Beach held a one-point advantage at the half and trailed by two with 4:58 remaining in the game before going on a 7-0 run that gave them a 73-68 advantage with 1:21 to play. Long Beach State saw the lead trimmed to one with 34 seconds remaining but hit a bucket with eight seconds left, then hung on for the win. The Beach shot 43.1% from the field, including four of 18 from three-point range, and won the rebounding battle 40-31. Marcus Tsohonis led the way with 21 points, six rebounds and four assists in the win.

The Bea ch is averaging 76.6 points per game this season, which is 66th in the nation when it comes to scoring offense. Long Beach State collects 42 boards a night (2nd in the nation) while dishing out 14.7 assists per contest. The Beach has to be better on the defensive end of the floor as they are giving up an average of 73.4 points per contest this season, leaving them 287th in the country in scoring defense. Joel Murray leads the team with 15.7 points a night this season. Marcus Tsohonis (14.6 points) and Lassina Traore (11.7 points, 10.4 rebounds) are also averaging in double figures this season. Jadon Jones, Aboubacar Traore, AJ George, Tone Hunter, Amari Stroud, Chayce Polynice and Tobias Rotegaard each play double-digit minutes a night for coach Dan Monson but they need to be more productive on both ends of the floor. Long Beach State shoots 45.5% from the field as a team. The Beach average 4.2 three-pointers a game while shooting only 28% from long range. Long Beach State shoots a dismal 66.1% from the line as a team this season.
