LIU at Merrimack – 2/2/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The LIU Sharks will head up to Massachusetts to face the Merrimack Warriors in Northeast Conference play from Hammel Court on the CBSSN. Merrimack and LIU have met six times, with each school winning three meetings.

Long Island dropped to 3-19 after falling to St. Francis (NY) in Brooklyn. The Sharks were overwhelmed by the Terriers early, and went on to lose by twelve points. LIU scores 67.1 ppg, while allowing 80.3 ppg, and shooting 42.3% from the floor.

LIU’s loss to their inner-borough rival brought them back to life after a win over Sacred Heart. Not much has gone right on the Sharks side of Brooklyn, and their 20th defeat could be near. The Sharks are 1-9 in Northeast play, with a 1-10 record on the road. Sophomore guard Marko Maletic leads LIU in scoring (16.8), despite missing the lone conference win over SHU. Former UMKC guard Jacob Johnson leads the team in rebounding (5.8), while scoring 11.0 ppg.
