Kevin Durant would stay with the Nets if the general manager and head coach combination of Sean Marks and Steve Nash are fired from the organization, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported on Monday.
The news comes more than a month after Durant formally requested a trade from the Nets.
No trade has come close to materializing due to a confluence of factors, including Durant’s limited wish list and the Timberwolves’ trade for Rudy Gobert drastically inflating the market.
Nets owner Joe Tsai said in a statement on Monday that “our front office and coaching staff have my support. We will make decisions in the best interest of the Brooklyn Nets.”
