Kansas put Manhattan away early in its last game, outscoring the Jaspers 44-19 in the first half. The Jayhawks shot 56.7 percent and won the rebounding battle 45-32. KU led by as many as 43 points and never trailed, holding the Jaspers to 33.8 percent shooting.

The Jayhawks are loaded but need to replace Big 12 Player of the Year Jalen Wilson and Grady Dick, who both departed for the NBA. Former Michigan big man Hunter Dickinson (18.5 PPG and 9.0 RPG last season) was the biggest coup of the transfer portal, but he wasn't the only portal addition KU made, as Nick Timberlake (Towson) and Parker Braun (Santa Clara) also joined the fold. That said, the Jayhawks will mostly rely on Dickinson and returning starters Dajuan Harris Jr. (8.9 PPG, 6.2 APG, and 2.2 SPG), K.J. Adams, Jr. (10.6 PPG and 4.3 RPG), and Kevin McCullar Jr. (10.7 PPG and 7.0 RPG).

Kansas averages 99.0 points (12th) and shoots 62.6 percent from the floor (1st), including 46.9 percent from three-point range (10th). It shoots 80.8 percent at the free-throw line (24th) and averages 39.5 rebounds (85th) per game. Last season, KU scored 75.4 points per game (88th) and shot 46.8 percent (50th) with a 34.7 shooting percentage from three (157th).

The Jayhawks surrender 58.5 points per game (39th) and their opponents shoot 34.4 percent (36th), including 28.6 percent from three (118th). Last season, Kansas' opponents averaged 68.1 points (118th) with a 41.5 field goal percentage (53rd) and 31.0 three-point percentage (37th).
