The 2022-23 college basketball season goes on Saturday, February 11, with the Kansas State Wildcats taking on the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Big 12 Conference showdown at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas.
The Wildcats and Red Raiders lock horns for the second time this season. Back in January, Kansas State beat Texas Tech 68-58 as a 3.5-point home fave, and the game went under a 143-point line. This time around, the Wildcats are small 1-point road favorites with a total of 144.0 points.
After a couple of losses at No. 8 Kansas 90-78 and to No. 10 Texas 69-66, the Kansas State Wildcats (19-5; 17-7 ATS; 7-4 conf.) returned to winning ways last Tuesday, outlasting No. 17 TCU 82-61 as 4.5-point home favorites. The Wildcats held the Horned Frogs to just two points in the final 4:50 of the second half to beat the number with ease.
K-State made 45.9% of its field goals against TCU. The Wildcats went 7-for-19 from downtown and 19-for-23 from the charity stripe while handing out 19 assists and posting 13 offensive rebounds. Senior guard Markquis Nowell led the way with 18 points and seven assists, and senior forward Keyontae Johnson added 14 points and seven rebounds. This duo is tallying 34.9 points per game in 2022-23.

Kansas State paces the Big 12 Conference in 3-point percentage (37.4%) and assists (16.0 per game), but the Wildcats also commit the most turnovers a night (13.9). Per KenPom, K-State scores 113.7 points per 100 possessions (37th in the nation) and surrenders 94.3 points in return (22nd). The Wildcats hold their rivals to 27.3% shooting from deep in the conference play. They are No. 12 in the AP Top 25 Poll, No. 17 in the NCAA NET Rankings, and No. 20 in the KenPom rankings.
