Kansas Sports Betting Launch Date Expected Today

It appears Kansas sports betting will launch in time for bettors to see the full NFL season.

The Kansas Lottery is expected to announce Thursday that KS sports betting will begin Sept. 1. The initial report came from Kansas City radio host Alex Gold, and multiple sources confirmed the news.

A spokesperson for the Kansas Lottery told that a release is expected Thursday afternoon, but did not confirm the date. The reported launch date means a full season of NFL betting would be available to Kansas bettors.

Earlier this month, Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission Director of Wagering Todd Allen told a Sept. 8 launch would be a stretch. After the legislation passed in May, Allen did tell  he expected sports betting to be up and running by the football season.
