Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-20-2022

The Los Angeles Chargers have a golden opportunity to gain ground on the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday when they host the Chiefs. The Chiefs lead the division at 7-2 while the Chargers are 5-4. The Chiefs beat the Chargers 27-24 in week 2 but failed to cover as a four point favorite. Can the Chargers cover again?

The Chiefs are rolling and have the best record in the AFC at 7-2. They have won 3 straight games including a 27-17 win over the Jaguars last Sunday. The Chiefs barely covered as a 9.5 point favorite. The Chiefs jumped out to a 20-0 lead and cruised from there. Kansas City rolled up a 486-315 yard edge and a 26-17 edge in first downs. The Jaguars came back and made a game of it, but it was too little too late. “They gave us all we could handle, and it wound up being a good game at the end,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said after the game, reported ESPN.

Patrick Mahomes had a fantastic game, going 26 of 35 for 331 yards and 4 touchdowns with no interceptions. He also ran for 39 yards. Travis Kelce had 6 catches for 81 yards and a touchdown while Marquez Valdez Scantling, Noah Gray, and new pickup Kadarius Toney also caught touchdown passes. Isaiah Pacheco got the start at running back and rushed for 82 yards while Jerick McKinnon caught 6 passes out of the backfield for 56 yards. Pacheco, who has taken over as the starter for Clyde Edwards-Helaire, is questionable for Sunday, as is JuJu Smith-Schuster, McKinnon, and Valdes-Scantling. Receiver Mecole Hardman is listed as out. The Chiefs are 1st in points per game and 19th in points allowed.
